OSU campus attack only active shooter was police

Suspect ran down  pedestrians then got out and used a knife on numerous bystanders.

Law enforcement officials told NBC News the suspect’s name is 18-year-old Abdul Artan, a student at the university. He was a Somali refugee who left his homeland with his family in 2007, lived in Pakistan and then came to the United States in 2014 as a legal permanent resident of the United States, officials said.

Any indicators here?  Refugee from Muslim country with very anti-American history, lived in Pakistan (humm), arrived 2014 as a legal permanent resident (what does the require I wonder, apparently not much). More of that great vetting.  Also, who is paying for all this travel and his education?

Where have I heard of something like this before?  Oh yeah

See Rumiyah magazine

Just might what to talk to the rest of his family a bit.

Elections and the Democrats

If the democrats or any other political party actually cared about fair and honest elections they’d be fighting for voter IDs and clearing registration of dead and illegals. They would also fight for a system that can’t be hacked.   But they don’t. Why is that?

As to Jill Stein, the Green party 1%er,  and her praise for Castro, “Fidel Castro was a symbol of the struggle for justice in the shadow of empire. Presente!”, shows her loyalties.

No to Romney, no to Petraeus…

While I don’t think Romney would have been a bad president, at least nowhere near as bad as Obama, he isn’t the right man for the Secretary of State job.  Petraeus either.

Petraeus, while having some accomplishments broke some basic rules that others in the same situation have been punished for.  A high-level position should not be in his future. These are not bad men but there are others that would be better.

I’m good with Mattis in any role…

General Mattis quotes. I can’t find one that I disagree with.

Of course quote one and five is special as I’ve worked with many Marines and I’m not sure Marines can spell at all. Just Kidding. Winking smile

I like brawling.”

Media biased? Really?

MRC/YouGov Polls show most people think the media is biased. While this isn’t really a surprise the question becomes how to fix this problem and it is a problem. If we can’t get reliable and unbiased information it becomes much more difficult to make good decisions.

At this point in time is seems there are more commentators than reporters at the major media outlets. They are certainly the highest paid at the media establishments. Perhaps they would do well to focus on the reporters and non-activist editors if they wish to bring some faith back to their industry.

Get rid of the talking heads and pundits or at least have fewer on and more straight facts.

Don’t repeat what the press people say, actually report news.

Solid editors perhaps of both sides of the political spectrum would help filter out the biased reporting.

The other problem is that tabloid news and activist commentary seem to get better ratings and that makes it tough to get hard news reported. Unfortunately, that’s where the money seems to be from a very shallow populace.

I’ve been complaining about the news for a while now and it’s only gotten worse. Granted now have access to a lot of independent reporting through blogs, independent web sites and social media. You still have to filter it but at least it’s different.

Why the polls got it wrong

This simple answer is that polls and pollsters are there to make money.  They are there to sway the vote not reflect it. There is an entire industry devoted to politics, not governing but politics and they get filthy rich win or lose.

You’ll also notice as the elections near the end the polls tighten.  That’s because they are often never really that far apart and it gives the pollster that ability to say, “look that’s what I predicted. It was within the margin of error.” They are a scam as much of politics is.

Is the FBI Director smoking dope?

FBI director James Comey has stirred the pot once more or is he just smoking it.

What a crazy election year.  I have no idea what James Comey is doing.  I’m sure he understands that at this point everything he says or reports to congress is big news.  He continues to send his reports that never seem to have any useful information to congress more often than would seem appropriate.

I personally don’t think Mr. Comey should have said anything unless he was ready to recommend and indictment, which I don’t think the Justice Department would ever follow through with.

Reading the letter from Mr. Comey below one has to wonder what in the hell was he thinking with his last letter to congress.  The Hillary supporters will say she has been cleared, which wouldn’t be accurate and the Trump supporters will say the systems is rigged. I know which I believe.
