The AP just dropped a report that over half of Hillary Clinton’s meeting as Secretary of State were with people who gave large sums of money to her foundation. (Braun & Sullivan, 2016)
WASHINGTON (AP) — More than half the people outside the government who met with Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state gave money — either personally or through companies or groups — to the Clinton Foundation. It’s an extraordinary proportion indicating her possible ethics challenges if elected president.
At least 85 of 154 people from private interests who met or had phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to her family charity or pledged commitments to its international programs, according to a review of State Department calendars released so far to The Associated Press. Combined, the 85 donors contributed as much as $156 million. At least 40 donated more than $100,000 each, and 20 gave more than $1 million.
This is no surprise of course, but it’s nice to see the AP actually looked at something. What you will hear people say is that there is still no direct evidence that there was pay to play. Of course who in their right mind would write in an email, “hey give me money and I’ll see you.” Hillary may not be a genius but she has this part of corruption figured out. There most likely will not be any direct evidence and without that, this Justice Department will not do a thing. It is truly up to the voting public. While Donald Trump may not be what we look to for in a President, Hillary, is not ethically qualified for the Presidency.
