Covert doesn’t seem to mean the same thing these days

US hacked Yemeni Al Qaeda sites to reverse propaganda, Clinton says

In a rare public admission of the covert cyber war against extremists, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says cyber experts based at the State Department hacked Yemeni tribal websites, replacing Al Qaeda propaganda that bragged about killing Americans.

“Within 48 hours, our team plastered the same sites with altered versions of the ads that showed the toll Al Qaeda attacks have taken on the Yemeni people,” Clinton said Wednesday.

In response, “Extremists are publicly venting their frustration and asking supporters not to believe everything they read on the Internet,” she said.

Why is this in the news?  Why is Clinton telling us this?  Anyone in this administration understand the word covert? Do they realize you can’t win if you continue to tell the enemy your battle plan?

Court records show Zimmerman was injured

So, now as was suspected, George Zimmerman appears to have sustained several injuries the night he shot Trayvon Martin.  Court records released by prosecutors in show that he was treated for two black eyes, a broken nose and a cut on the back of his head. At the same time the Justice Department is looking into charging Zimmerman with a hate crime.  There simply is no shame in this Justice Department. No my friends true hate resides not in George Zimmerman the "white-Hispanic" but rather the media that manipulated audio tapes to produce a story that is pushing racial tolerance to its limits. Hate exists in the race baiting hucksters that live on social unrest. Hate is deep in the political left that seems hell bent on proving we can’t possibly live together in peace.   Where there are special rules for special people.

In a world that now seems continually upside down, we find the rule of law superseded by the power of the mob.  It is now a hate crime to look out for your neighborhood.  To simply question someone is illegal.

When attacked one would think the only legal course of action today is to beg for compassion and run away, if allowed and thus leaving your home, your family and your neighbors’ at the mercy of the worst in society.  Trayvon may have simply been walking to his fathers’ girlfriends house, but how much simpler it would have been to just talk to George Zimmerman and explain why he was there.  Have we lost all common sense? Must we seek out insult in every action regardless of any actual intent?

Without any evidence to suggest George Zimmerman did anything wrong, he has been hunted like a convicted clansman.  Nearly all the information initially reported about George Zimmerman was completely false.  It was fabricated to fit the narrative. This was not by mistake but with a purpose.

Catch and release sure is depressing

US secretly releasing Taliban fighters, report says

KABUL – The US has been secretly releasing captured Taliban fighters from a detention center in Afghanistan in a bid to strengthen its hand in peace talks with the insurgent group, the Washington Post reported Monday.

The "strategic release" program of high-level detainees is designed to give the US a bargaining chip in some areas of Afghanistan where international forces struggle to exercise control, the report said.

Under the risky program, the hardened fighters must promise to give up violence and are threatened with further punishment, but there is nothing to stop them resuming attacks against Afghan and American troops.

"Everyone agrees they are guilty of what they have done and should remain in detention. Everyone agrees that these are bad guys. But the benefits outweigh the risks," a US official told the Post.

A hell of a way to fight a war.  But then we haven’t been fighting a war have we?  In fact we’ve been hard pressed to name this situation at all.

Folks this is what our service members are losing limbs and dying over.

When your children ask why you were gone so many times for so many years what will you tell them?

What a mess.

Afghanistan, what’s new?

Congressional Intel Chairs Say Taliban Is ‘Stronger’

As 10,000 U.S. troops prepare to leave the Afghanistan over the next six months, two top lawmakers, just back from a trip to the region, on the House and Senate Intelligence Committee said they are concerned that the Taliban is growing stronger.

"I think we both say that what we found is the Taliban is stronger," Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee said on CNN’s "State of the Union."

Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, agreed with her assessment.

This report isn’t a surprise.  Just look closely at our re-integration program.  Often we are putting former insurgents in leadership positions in AFG security.

We continue to support an incompetent and corrupt government and claim we are following a “COIN” strategy when anyone who has studied unconventional warfare, insurgencies  or counter insurgencies understands the support of the population by fear or trust is needed to win.

While our soldiers continue to do a great job they are frustrated by mixed messages.
