Why are we apologizing?

Afghanistan Koran Burning Protests Rage On for Third Day

"We condemn, in particular, the action of an individual in the United States who recently burned the Holy Koran," said ISAF Commander General David Petraeus and NATO Senior Civilian Representative Ambassador Mark Sedwill in a statement Sunday. "We also offer condolences to the families of all those injured and killed in violence which occurred in the wake of the burning of the Holy Koran."

So when do we hear the apologies from Karzai, Imams and local Afghans for the deaths of civilians?  You know the actual murder of people not a book?  I probably just haven’t found that yet.

What the General and Ambassador Sedwill should be saying is, get your damn priorities straight people.

…because friendships that are obtained by payments, and not by greatness or nobility of mind, may indeed be earned, but they are not secured, and in time of need cannot be relied upon; and men have less scruple in offending one who is beloved than one who is feared, for love is preserved by the link of obligation which, owing to the baseness of men, is broken at every opportunity for their advantage; but fear preserves you by a dread of punishment which never fails….Nicolo Machiavelli

  1. Two things 11th, we live in a country of real laws. Afghanistan is lawless no matter how we or the rest of the word portrays it. Muslim Americans are scared to even protest and denounce the killings for fear from reprisal not from us but from their muslim brothers and sisters. Muslim Americans, while happy with their lives here, are not brave enough to denounce what others do in the name of their own religion. Actually says a lot about Islam, doesn’t it, 11th?

  2. Islam is the second largest Religion on Earth behind Christianity. With all these stats for religion , I would like to know the amount of Extremist (Murder’s) that are either Islam or Christian. And why is Islam catching up so fast with Christianity? Is it because more Extremist are getting on board with Allah?
